She Studied Business Management In College

Yvette Prieto was born in Cuba, in March 1979 to the family of Carlos and Maria Prieto. Like many models of her time, modelling wasn’t her thing at first.

Yvette studied business management while in college, and worked in the family business for some time before branching out to pursue a career in modelling.

Her father’s investment instincts flow so much in her; she is principal to a couple of Miami-based companies such as Beet, the LBS, and Aqua Management.

What We Know About Yvette Prieto’s Modeling Career

For a model, Yvette Prieto has been pretty politically conscious as she was previously an active member of the Republican party. It is hard to tell what her political sentiments are at the moment, just as much isn’t known about how she kicked off her modelling career.

What most people know about Yvette Prieto’s modelling career is that she has modelled for Alexander Wang, the Taiwanese-American fashion designer. Being someone who does not fancy being in the spotlight, we can only hope that more details regarding her career as a model would be revealed as time goes on. Nonetheless, it would be fair to assume that her good looks and the need to make a decent living inspired her modelling career.

A very good-looking woman, Prieto’s great physique would land her lucrative modelling gigs; notwithstanding her age and the fact that she is a mother of two. She stands at a height of 5 feet 6 inches and weighs 64 kg. Her bust-waist-hips measures 37-26-37 inches and her bra and dress sizes are 34C and 8(US) respectively. Prieto has beautiful brown eyes and wears brown hair.

Yvette Prieto’s Love Life Before She Met MJ

As much as Prieto loves to avoid being in everyone’s face, her relationship with Jordan is not the first time that her love life has dragged her to the limelight; she has a famous ex-lover. Many years ago before she met the principal owner of the Charlotte Hornets of the NBA and got married to him, Yvette Prieto dated Julio Iglesias Jr.

He is a Spanish-Filipino singer who gained a lot of clout as the 2008 winner of the CMT competition, Gone Country. Being the son of the popular Spanish singer, Julio Iglesias and the Filipina magazine journalist Isabel Preysler; Julio hails from a popular family and the popularity rubbed off on Prieto while they dated. Julio was so fond of Yvette that he described her as a “loving, simple, and very good person.”

The relationship was not meant to be, so they parted ways; like Yvette, Julio moved on and has been married to a Belgian model named Charisse Verhaert since November 2012.

The Model’s Life With Michael Jordan Began At A Miami Nightclub

Yvette Prieto met Michael Jordan at a Miami nightclub. It had been two years since the crash of his 17-year marriage to Juanita Vanoy. And Jordan was still healing; emotionally and financially from the split that had cost him over $168 million. It was tagged as one of the most expensive marriage splits in American history at the time.

After meeting at the nightclub in 2008, they moved in together the following year and it sealed their fate as life partners. Roughly three years of dating was all it took Jordan to make the next move. On Christmas of 2011, the basketball legend proposed to Prieto who was more than willing to become the new Mrs Jordan.

The Couple Had A Lavish Wedding In 2013

On April 27, 2013, they formalized their union at the courthouse in Palm Beach County. There, the couple signed a prenuptial agreement. The wedding held at Episcopal church Bethesda-by-the Sea was attended by 500 high-value guests. What followed was a reception at the exclusive Bears Club; a golf-course community in Jupiter, Florida. The lavish reception was attended by an additional 1,000 guests.

Yvette Prieto was in a sheath-style custom-made gown by J’Aton Couture. It was made of French silk voile and handmade silk lace, featuring a cathedral train and was embellished with Swarovski crystals. The couple had a 7-tier white rum cake, decorated with crystal broaches. For music, Jordan left nothing to chance. He had the likes of Usher and Robin Thicke to entertain guests.

They Welcomed Their Twin Daughters The Following Year

On November 30, 2013, seven months into their marriage, it was announced that the couple was expecting their first child together. On the 11th of February 2014, Yvette Prieto and Michael Jordan welcomed their first issue, a set of identical twin daughters christened Victoria and Ysabel.

The couple has largely kept the twins and their three step-siblings from the media eye.

The Last Dance is a 2020 sports documentary miniseries. Co-produced by Netflix and ESPN Films, the series revolves around Michael Jordan’s career, mirroring his last season with the Chicago Bulls.

People must have anticipated Yvette’s appearance on the series as it became a big deal when the 10 episodes of the docu-series finished airing without MJ’s wife featuring as one of the 90 people interviewed for the documentary.

Speculations were made to explain this until Mike Tollin, the executive producer of the series, related that the documentary was meant to concentrate on the professional side of Michael Jordan.

According to Tollin, he agreed with the director, Jason Hehir that the project was a workplace story. He added that the former professional basketballer is a very private person, but stressed that he never asked them to not feature his wife.
